Headline: BD Delhi mission observes historic 7th March
New Delhi, March 07: - Bangladesh High Commission in New Delhi today held a discussion meeting to highlight the significance of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s historic 7th March speech that inspired and prepared the Bengalees to successfully fight for their nation’s independence in 1971.
The speakers said UNESCO has done a great honour to Bangladesh by including the speech in the Memory of the World Registrar as the documentary heritage.
Bangabandhu’s historic speech has inspired the nation to fight for the independence. The UNESCO recognition of the speech will inspire the nation to work hard to build a happy and prosperous “Sonar Bangla” dreamt by the Father of the Nation, the speakers said.
Presided over by Deputy High Commissioner A.T.M. Rokebul Haque, the meeting was addressed by Minister (Press) Farid Hosain, Defence Adviser Brig. Gen. AKM Ziaur Rahman and Assistant Secretary Biplop Tafafdar.
Head of Chancery A.F.M. Zahid-ul-Islam conducted the meeting.
Attache (Consular) Nahid Mozammel Sohel read out the message from Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Second Secretary (political) Arsuda Khan read out President Abdul Hamid’s message.
A special prayer was held seeking divine blessings for Bangabandhu and independence martyrs.
